Attorney Maria Perez-Brown
Maria Perez-Brown is Of Counsel to Ortiz and Ortiz bringing to the practice over 30 years of experience in complex contract negotiations, entertainment law, employment contracts and business experience.
Maria started her legal career at the law firm LeBoeuf, Lamb, Leiby & MacRae in New York, where she worked on employment and executive compensation agreements and ERISA matters. While at LeBeouf, Maria represented emerging writers and producers on their entertainment matters pro bono.
Maria left the law firm to pursue her love of entertainment full time and launched her own production company, where she created some of the most iconic children’s shows on Nickelodeon, including the award winning shows Gullah Gullah Island and Taina. Throughout her career, Maria continued to advise clients on writer and production agreements, publishing contracts and legal and business considerations of setting up successful small businesses.
Perez-Brown is licensed to practice in the State of New York. She is fluent in Spanish.
